Conclusion

Sometimes you will have to stand out and say what is right in your opinion. Your voice is your choice. We chose to do this on Russia and Ukraine is because of the brutal war. We can just hope that in the future they will be at peace, think about the difference they could make by being at peace.

Our Views

A peaceful solution is needed for the Russia and Ukraine crisis. Innocent people are being killed everyday. So many cities and buildings are being destroyed. There are some poor people in Ukraine and these people are affected as the government spends money on war. Other countries do not support and give much aid to countries in war.

The leader of a country should always look after the needs of all the people of the country. The leaders of both countries should realize that the war is affecting the people of their country. They should decide to end the war immediately.

The only solution to this problem is for the leaders of both countries to sit down and discuss and agree on a peaceful solution to the crisis, a solution to a crisis of this type will not be found in one day. The leaders must decide to continue having meetings until a peaceful solution is found. They could also make a peace treaty to solve their problems. They can also ask for assistance from other countries in helping the leaders come up with a peaceful solution.

Reasons For This War

The main reason for the war between Russia and Ukraine is because of an economic deal that Ukraine was going to sign with European Union on 2013. The Ukraine President, Viktor Yanukovych, rejected the deal. The people of Ukraine believed that he was being pressured to reject the deal by the president of Russiaq, Vladimir Putin. A few days later, the president of Ukraine signed a new deal from Russia in the form of $15 billion in aid and other economic benefits.

The people of Ukraine did not like their President rejecting the European Union’s agreement. For years, the people of Ukraine wanted an economic deal between Ukraine and the more prosperous Western Countries.

Within hours of Ukraine’s President rejected the European Unions agreements, thousands of Ukraine Protestors stormed Kiev, the capital of Ukraine and staged a big protest and asked for the president of Ukraine to resign.

The government of Ukraine took tough actions against the protestors, but the protests continued. On 21 February, 2014, protestors overtook the capital and the presidents residence. Presidents Viktor Yanukorych quickly fled to Russia, fearing for his life. He was also facing charges for the killing of some protestors.

Some of the protestors came to the Ukraine-Russia border. The president of Russia also sent over 100,00 troops to the border.

Fighting began at the border, and moved to Ukraine province of Crimea. Russia has now gained control of Crimea. Fighting is continuing because Crimea was once a Ukrainian province but is now claimed by Russia.putin-helicopter_2840587k

Impacts Of The War

Heavy fighting and bombing is happening right now in Ukraine, they are so occupied they cannot find time to strike back, while Putin is finding more gruesome ways of killing of Ukrainians, just 2 hours ago at this time in 11th of August, which was in 7 am when all of us were sleeping (well in New Zealand) explosions happened in Ukraine.

Okay now Russia is a dangerous country to be in war with as they have a heavy amount of nuclear weapons in their command. Think about what the impact will be, ever heard of the bombing in Hiroshima?

Well if Russia uses nuclear bombs just like that, what happened to Hiroshima is going to happen in Ukraine. If this happens there will be major problems, there will be massive economy changes and drastic changes to the lifestyle of the people living in Ukraine.

Children won’t be going to school due to the destruction of their surroundings, adults won’t be able to go to work due to difficulties and more and more people will be misplaced, and will be homeless if their homes are destroyed in the process of this.

War can also make these happen, but more people will be injured or in major scenes… Dead.

This war has resulted in many deaths and also resulted in pollution in Ukraines natural environment. Bombs and war can result in massive losses of endangered animals and tree’s and forests in Ukraine.

There are many gruesome impacts that can happen in this continuous war between these two nations. We could just hope that they can do a peace treaty and let this war be over before bad things turn worse.

So as you see the red tags are the places that have been bombed in Ukraine, and the most of blue tags is where the President of Ukraine orders his troops to construct new army uses.

Just recently in 10th of August at 8pm, 7 Ukrainian troops were injured in heavy fighting near Bilo kam yanka. As you see this was just 13 hours ago. And just on 10pm, the president had held a meeting with security army forces chiefs because of the situation. This event is marked with the unhappy tag.

Introduction

We are students that are dedicated to our work of putting our student voice out there. Many people are too scared or nervous to say what they feel. But maybe it’s time to change and put your voice out there. Because as we say every voice counts.

Now look at the big picture, Ukraine is way smaller than Russia. So how on earth did Ukraine survive all those wars that happened between them? The purpose of this blog is to explain the complex war between the two nations.
